Meeting Tony from Alife

Many of you already know that we’ve been working on and off with Tony Arcabascio for the last couple of years. But one might wonder how a small time guy from the northern part of Sweden could touch one of the founding fathers of the pioneering streetwear brand Alife?

I’d been a fan of Alife for years, and now I’d finally got a mutual friend of ours to set up a meeting (thanks Eddie!). I think the year was 2012. As I was walking through the door (it was actually an elevator going straight to his penthouse office) at Centre Street in SOHO, I only had one thing on my mind. Don’t waist his time. Just ask him if he’d be interested in doing a collaboration, and get the fuck out! Tony is this tall Italian guy that, quite frankly, looks like a mobster. Which really didn’t help me much at all in my efforts in trying to act cool and unaffected by this whole scenario. Obviously I froze like a deer in headlights as he was walking towards me, but then he suddenly opened his arms and gave me a big hug. “- Welcome Peter, it’s so nice to finally get to meet you. I’m a big T-post fan!” As often, looks can be deceiving. We booked a collaboration within the first 10 minutes of me being there, but luckily I didn’t get the fuck out after that, I actually ended up sitting at his office talking for over 3 hours.
